The Perrin Technique in London: What is it?

Updated: May 1

At Rakhee Osteopathy, we provide the Perrin Technique which is used to improve the symptoms of conditions such as ME, post-viral fatigue, Fibromyalgia, CFS. The Perrin Technique has been developed by Dr Ray Perrin over 30 years and Rakhee Mediratta has trained with him before becoming a well-established and one of the longest standing Perrin Technique practitioners, having used it since 2007.

How does the Perrin Technique work?

The body can experience different stress factors from the environment, infections or emotional stresses. This can lead to a build-up of toxins around the brain and spinal cord, rather than leaving the body through the lymphatic drainage system and the liver. This congestion can lead to many of the symptoms associated with ME and CFS.

By massaging the head, neck, back and chest areas, the Perrin Technique can manually encourage the movement of the toxins and encourage the drainage of them through the lymphatic system. This can then have a positive impact on the reduction of symptoms over time and in some cases, symptoms may be eradicated completely with a healthier functioning lymphatic system and sympathetic nervous system.

What do I need to do next?

If you are interested in finding out about how the Perrin Technique in London could work for you by visiting Rakhee Osteopathy, you can go online for a Free Online Assessment which will take less than 5 minutes to complete. You simply need to state what your primary goal of treatment is, as well as detail your main symptoms and how long you have been experiencing them for. After this, you will then have an initial consultation which will take 90 minutes. During this appointment, we will take a full history and you can explain how your condition impacts on your life and how you feel about this. We will also do a physical examination and you are welcome to bring someone along with you for this. We will be able to give you a diagnosis from this examination and from there, we can advise a treatment programme to suit your needs. We will explain everything that we would plan to do with the Perrin Technique and ensure that you understand what is involved and why. You can of course ask as many questions as you need to during this time.

Following your treatment plan, we will also devise a follow-up programme for your recovery and to ensure that your quality of life is maintained and possibly further improved as well. We understand that many of the associated symptoms of conditions such as ME can be difficult to endure and we want to help ease that pressure that you feel through the manipulation of soft tissues to help drain away the toxins that are contributing to the symptoms you want to be rid of.

If you are interested in finding out more about how we can help, do not hesitate to contact us.
