Here at Rakhee Osteopathy, we are dedicated to helping our patients with the power of osteopathic techniques. Our team is specially trained in many different types of osteopathic techniques, each one being important in helping to improve the body and mind. One of the techniques in osteopathy we use that stands out is the Perrin technique in London.
Why would I need the Perrin technique?
This osteopathic technique is used to help those with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). This syndrome can really affect the quality of people’s lives, due to them experiencing overwhelming fatigue, sometimes to the point of being bedridden. This means that it can impact on every aspect of someone’s life, from preparing a meal to holding down a job. This is why we are proud to offer the Perrin technique in London, as this can sometimes help to ease some of the symptoms of CFS.
What’s the process?
Before you start this osteopathic treatment, we will have a consultation appointment with you. This is important in ensuring that we can fully understand the symptoms you have and plan the sort of help you will need. The consultation will usually last for around 90 minutes, and will start off with looking at your full case history, to really get to know your condition and how it affects you. We will then do a full physical examination and can give you a diagnosis of your condition. Once we have done this, we will then discuss how the treatment works, the research that has been done on it, and how we will go forward with your specific treatment.
When someone has CFS, this usually means that they have a build-up of fluid in their lymphatic system, which needs to be drained. When we use this technique, we will manually stimulate the fluid motion around the spinal cord and brain, to encourage drainage of the lymphatic system. We can also use this technique to diagnose CFS, due to their being a few common physical symptoms that we can identify whilst using the technique. When you have the treatment done, it will consist of massaging the head, neck, chest and back with a light pressure and slight pumping motion to encourage the fluid to move.
Rakhee, the owner of our clinic, has completed training with Dr Ray Perrin himself so is extremely knowledgeable about the process and has passed that knowledge on to the rest of our team.
