Post-viral fatigue? The Perrin technique in London with Rakhee could help!
Updated: 6 days ago
If you have struggled with conditions such as post-viral fatigue, fibromyalgia, Lyme disease or another similar neurological condition, you may be wondering what alternative therapies you can seek to help improve your symptoms, beyond taking prescribed medications. At Rakhee Osteopathy, we use the Perrin Technique which has been developed over 30 years and its results as a diagnostic tool have been documented most recently in a British Medical Journal in 2017.
What is the Perrin technique?
The technique was developed by Dr Perrin who believes stress of the environmental, infectious, and emotional varieties, or even all three - leads to an overload on the nervous system. When this happens, there is a build-up of toxins in the fluid surrounding the brain and the spinal cord. The fluids should drain away down into the lymphatic system, however, when there is too much, blockages can occur and this leads to an irritation of the areas surrounding the spinal cord and the brain and results in issues such as ME or CFS symptoms.
The Perrin technique involves using an osteopathic approach to stimulate the motion of the fluid to encourage the movement around the brain and spinal cord. By manually massaging these areas, manipulating soft tissue around the head, neck, back and chest, it is hoped that physical symptoms will decrease and patients could even become symptom free over time, if extra stressors are not incurred.
Why should I choose Rakhee Osteopathy?
Rakhee Mediratta has trained with Dr Perrin in the Perrin technique. Rakhee has been using this technique since 2007 and is one of the most established practitioners using the technique to treat patients. The obvious benefit of choosing the Perrin technique is to help improve physical symptoms that can have a great emotional impact on people’s well-being. If you suffer with ME, for example, feeling as though you cannot move and live an energetic life is completely debilitating and yet by visiting Rakhee Osteopathy for the Perrin technique in London, your quality of life could be improved.
What do I need to do next?
If you are interested in finding out more about the treatment, you can take a quick 5 minute online assessment. When you have your initial consultation with Rakhee Osteopathy, it will then take 90 minutes to get a full case history, including how your life is currently impacted by your symptoms. We want you to be able to discuss all of your concerns knowing that you will be treated as an individual with specific needs. You will also have a physical examination from which a diagnosis will then be provided for your treatment plan. We will be able to talk you through how this treatment would work for your specific needs and a follow-up treatment plan will also be provided for your recovery process. Feel free to bring someone along with you as well to chaperone during this first meeting. We may need to examine the area around your chest and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. During this time, we warmly encourage patients to ask any questions they may have, so that they are fully appraised of what is involved and they can make a fully informed decision about their treatment plan.
At Rakhee Osteopathy, we want you to feel an improvement in the quality of your life and we want to help with this. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to the Perrin technique.
