Chronic fatigue syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME) is a multisystemic, multifactorial disease that can have devastating effects on all aspects of life. Extensive research into this debilitating disease by Dr Raymond Perrin has reported poor lymphatic drainage of the brain and spinal cord, affecting the central nervous system, as the most probable cause of this disease. This has been backed up by many studies carried out by other specialists in this field.
Dr Raymond Perrin, an osteopath and neuroscientist, who has been investigating CFS/ME and its causes for the last 30 years, is highly recognised by his peers for his pioneering research into CFS/ME. He is also well-known for his establishment and education of the Perrin Technique in London amongst fellow osteopaths and physiotherapists throughout the country. His research also enables a positive diagnosis of the disease rather than treating patients for flu or depression as it had been done in the past.
The Perrin Technique
The Perrin Technique in London consists of specialised osteopathic techniques carried out by our practitioners here at Rakhee Osteopathy. We have been recognised for our excellence in delivering the Perrin Technique in London to help in the management of CFS/ME for our patients over the last 10 years. We have been awarded twice by Dr Raymond Perrin himself, and are proud to offer our services to you and help you on the road to recovery very soon.
The Perrin Technique is not a miracle cure for CFS/ME; it is effectively involved in helping you manage your symptoms and getting your life back on track. This technique requires time and dedication and will begin with an intensive course that will then become less frequent the more you are able to manage your symptoms.
The Perrin Technique will be tailored to the symptoms that you present. It is made up of stroking techniques, massage techniques and the manipulation of soft tissue in the back, neck, head and chest. Furthermore, the Perrin Technique requires specific exercises to be carried out at home with the help of a partner and changes to be made to lifestyle and diet where necessary.
The aim of this treatment plan is to encourage toxins to be drained from your body more effectively by actively promoting better lymphatic drainage of the cerebrospinal fluid that is found in your spinal cord and around your brain. The buildup of toxins in this fluid is thought to be responsible for the debilitating symptoms of this disease; therefore, by physically encouraging better movement and flow of the cerebrospinal fluid, we can encourage better drainage toxins. The toxins can then be metabolised by the liver or excreted by the kidneys, which will promote better function of the nervous system and eventually restore the natural balance and health of your body.
