If you have become exhausted, weaker than usual or generally feel under the weather, it may not just be a sign of your advancing years or needing an extra 40 winks. You may have ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), or you could be suffering from the effects of Long Covid. At Rakhee Osteopathy, we use The Perrin Technique to help alleviate the effects of exhaustion and other associated symptoms. The technique does not involve medication, nor does it require surgery.
How The Perrin Technique works
At our practice, we are proud to have been awarded the standard of excellence for our use of The Perrin Technique by The Perrin Clinic. The technique involves soft tissue massage around the head, neck, shoulders, back and chest, as well as stroking the lymphatic areas. The principle of this treatment is that when you are unwell, toxins have been released into the body because of various factors: environmental, physical, and emotional, as well as by infection. Dr Raymond Perrin, who created this technique in 1989, understood that when we are exposed to infection or stress, for example, our body reacts by overloading the sympathetic nervous system. The toxins that build up from this go into the fluids around the brain and spinal cord and while they should then be disposed of by the liver, there becomes a blockage, which then irritates the brain, spinal cord and other tissues in the area. The technique of massage helps to get the toxins into the bloodstream, allowing the liver to then get rid of them out of the body.
Will the technique work for me?
The Perrin Technique should enable patients to have improvement in their symptoms. While everyone is different, the technique has brought certain patients back to full health. The technique is well-established and has mounting evidence for its efficacy in treating Long Covid. To find out if this technique would be suitable for your specific needs, you will need to book in for an initial consultation with us at the practice. During this 90 minute session, we will discuss your symptoms and how this is affecting your life. We will also examine your breast and spinal tissue to determine whether or not this would be a suitable treatment for your needs. If it is deemed to be, we will explain how the treatment works and explore the evidence of its success with you. You can ask as many questions as you need to during this time to ensure that you are fully informed about the treatment and how it works. If you are then happy to proceed with the treatment, we will be able to make arrangements for your treatment plan. All plans are tailor-made for each patient’s individual requirements, so you can be sure that we are treating you in the way that your body needs us to.
If you are looking to get your vitality back, you don’t have to put up with anything less. Come and see us to find out more - let us help you get your health back on track.
